Don’t Forget to Respond to you SHARS Reimbursement Survey
The annual SHARS survey has been sent. This survey is a method for which districts report if any SHARS reimbursements have been spent directly on SPED expenditures (pic code 23).
Any SHARS funding spent directly on SPED will need to be deducted from the district’s expenditures when calculating Maintenance of Effort (MOE). Most districts deposit SHARS funds directly into the general fund to avoid this. If your district deposits the fund to the general fund please be sure to select Option 2.
