Multiple Medicaid COVID-19 Flexibilities Extended Through January 31, 2022

TMHP has released a Provider Notification regarding extension dates for SHARS Telehealth services. SHARS Telehealth flexibilities have been extended through January 31, 2022.

Texas Medicaid managed care organizations (MCOs) must provide all medically necessary, Medicaid-covered services to eligible clients. Administrative procedures such as prior authorization, precertification, referrals, and claims/encounter data filing may differ from traditional Medicaid (fee-for-service) and from MCO to MCO. Providers should contact the client’s specific MCO for details.

The following Medicaid COVID-19 flexibilities have been extended through January 31, 2022. The Texas HHSC is extending these flexibilities through January 31, 2022, because it includes teleservices that are being analyzed in alignment with House Bill 4.
